house rules

  • Please remove shoes upon entry.

  • No ski boots inside.

  • No smoking or illegal substances on premises.

  • No pets of any kind.

  • No parties or events.

  • No additional guests beyond rental contract. No air mattresses.

  • Please refrain from rearranging furniture

  • Please hand-wash sharp cutting knives - do not place in dishwasher.

  • Compost bin is provided below the sink for food scraps - no garbage disposal.

  • Please don't cut food directly on countertops - cutting boards provided.

  • Towels are for bath/showers only. Please do not use outside. Beach towels located inside mudroom.

  • Guests are not permitted to use the wood-burning stove without prior experience. It's a fire hazard if not used properly. Please use NEST thermostat to control heat, located in dining room. Mini-splits are available for supplemental heating & cooling in summer & winter. Operate mini-splits using remotes in living & primary bedroom.

important to note

  • We welcome all guests, however we do not recommended booking this house if you're traveling with elderly or mobility impaired due to the staircase and shower access.

  • Traveling with a baby? Houses built pre-1978 are at risk for Lead Paint. The house has a central staircase - please note baby gates are not provided.

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT

CHECK IN: anytime after 3:00PM

CHECK OUT: promptly by 11:00AM

Return keys to lockbox at checkout. $25 replacement fee for lost/misplaced key

Check-Out Procedures:

  • TRASH + RECYCLING: Remove all trash & recycling prior to leaving; large bins provided inside the barn. All items must be bagged - no loose trash or recycling.

  • KITCHEN: Place dirty dishes in dishwasher and start prior to leaving - dishwasher pods provided under sink. Remove all perishable foods from your stay - take out what you take in. Wipe down all countertops & vacuum any major crumbs. Vacuum stored in laundry closet in downstairs bedroom.

  • BEDDING: Strip ALL SHEETS from used beds & place in hamper in downstairs bedroom.

  • TOWELS: Place all used towels in hamper in upstairs primary bathroom.

  • HEAT: Turn NEST back to 60 before you leave (during winter).

PLOWING & SANDING

They will automatically come during their rotation - please be patient as they are busy during snowstorms. If there is an urgent need for snow removal, please contact us. Shovels & salt stored inside barn for convenience.

TRASH + RECYCLING TRANSFER STATION

We will collect all bagged trash & recycling after your stay, however the town dump is open to the public should you need to use it. Closed on Tuesdays & holidays.

HEATING & PLUMBING

County Plumbing & Heating: 802-888-6688 (Main Line)

If you lose hot water, check at the top of basement stairs (to the left) that the RED SWITCH hasn't been turned off. This is the emergency switch for furnace + water heater.
