A FARM HOME CHRISTMAS: Holiday touches to your home

Christmastime is here and The Farm Home is getting a makeover! Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved decorating for Christmas. I was the first in the family to pull out the candles for the windows, test the strands of lights, and beg my dad to help me hang them. Luckily, I married a man who shares my affinity for elf culture - there’s less begging these days.

Tyson and I are hosting Airbnb guests for the holidays! We’re very excited to share The Farm Home with friends and families from near and far. Plus, it gave us incentive to go the extra mile to transform the home into a Christmas wonderland. We wanted to maintain the simple overall minimalistic-look of the home, but add a few pops of red.

When it comes to Christmastime, there’s just no better place to spend the holidays than in Vermont. There’s a reason why all of those Hallmark Channel Christmas movies take-place in the Green Mountain State. Vermont is quaint, friendly, community-driven, and romantic. It’s the perfect backdrop to falling in love, nestling by a warm fire, and relaxing from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives.

This season, we’re excited to partner with Delaney Hardware on their “12 Doors of December” campaign! During our renovations, we decided to go with a salvaged door for our main entry. We loved the door, but needed the perfect handleset to pair with our modern farmhouse! We choose the Valero handleset (in aged black) because the reviews were stellar and we fell in love with its matte black finish and texture. Our front door is the first opportunity we have to make a good first impression, so we needed to make sure it was perfect!

Creating warm and inviting spaces will always be our goal, but during Christmastime we want it to feel magical. We hope our home brings out the holiday spirit in kids and adults alike…

Merry Christmas + Happy Holidays!
